Welcome!

I am so glad you stopped by. It is with great pleasure that I am getting to meet you through my book Cleaning Closets. No, it isn't an instruction book on how to clean closets! This is a story about my friend, Lydia Calypso, and her family. Actually, it is a story about many families ... the love, dysfunction, hope, caring, and faith.

If you are anything like me, I am sure you have a few closets in your life that could use a good cleaning or organizing. Isn't it amazing how complicated we can make life and part of that complication is our need to hoard and hide things.
I am at the point in my life where less is more, but somehow even when I get rid of things, the junk fairy comes at night and drops off more stuff.

I am also trying to sort through some of the closets in my mind and heart. After 55 years, the nooks and crannies of my head and heart need a thorough cleansing. I would use my Hoover to suck some of the trash out, but I am afraid my brains or intestines might accidentally get sucked away too.

In my closet I have my wedding dress, box of my mother's china, clothes in 4 sizes, lycra bike shorts, (oh my gosh, those are attractive), boxes of photos, and more. I'd be writing until tomorrow if I listed all I have in there.

Out of curiosity, what's in your closets?

I am hoping that you enjoy reading Cleaning Closets and that this will be the beginning of a long and lovely correspondence.

All the best,

Susan
